BY PLANE:

Santiago de Compostela Airport (SCQ) is only 10 km away from the city centre. Taxis have a 21 EUR flat rate.

The lines that operate at the airport are: Aer Lingus, Air Europa, Air Nostrum, Easy Jet, Evelop, Gestair, Iberia Express, Ryanair, Swiss International Airlines, Vueling Airlines.

Several Spanish airports with international connections are directly connected to Santiago airport: Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Islas, Madrid, Málaga, Palma, Valencia, etc.).

Coruña (LCG, 60 km) and Vigo (VGO, 90 km) airports, also offer national and international connections. Both airports are connected by motorway (less than an hour from Santiago) . On the other hand, there is Porto Airport (OPO, 200 km), which is also connected by motorway with Santiago and offers direct flights to more than thirty international destinations in Europe.

BY TRAIN:

The train station is in the centre of the city.

  • Long route: daily trains connecting with Madrid, San Sebastian, Hendaye and Barcelona.
  • Daily connections to Bilbao, Portugal and Paris, and many major national destinations (with only one transfer).

Regional: Frequent (every hour) trains leaving for the main destinations of Galicia - A Coruña, Vilagarcía de Arousa, Pontevedra and Vigo, with links to Portugal . There is also direct connection with the city of Ourense.

BY BUS:

Connections with Madrid, Gijón, Bilbao, Irún, Zamora, Salamanca, Cáceres, Sevilla, Cádiz, Algeciras, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, France and Switzerland.

BY CAR:

Autopista del Atlántico AP-9: connects Santiago de Compostela with A Coruña, Ferrol, Pontevedra, Vigo, Tui and the Portuguese border.

Autovía del Noroeste A-6: communicates Galicia with the rest of Spain through the province of Lugo (link to Santiago through the AP-9, in the vicinity of A Coruña).

Highway A-52 Rias Baixas: communicates Galicia with the rest of Spain through the province of Ourense (link with Santiago through the AP-9 in Vigo or through the AG-53 in Ourense).

Motorway AP-53 / AG-53: connects Santiago with Lalín, where it connects with the AG-53 to Ourense and Madrid.

Autovía del Cantábrico A-8: connects Galicia with France through the Cantabrian coast (link to Santiago via the Northwest A-6 motorway).

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND CONNECTIONS WITH THE AIRPORT:

There are connections every 30 minutes with stops at the airport, train station, the city centre and the bus station (in the northern part of the city).

The urban bus has 22 lines throughout the City, with frequencies every 20 minutes.
